Fluency & Language Skills-
http://www.freereading.net/index.php?title=Passages_to_practice_advanced_phonics_skills%2C_fluency%2C_and_comprehension
-Printable passages to practice phonics skills, fluency, and comprehension. Try having your child read the same passage for an entire week. This will help to build their fluency skills. Each time they read, have them try to answer simple comprehension questions starting with "who, what, when, where, or why."

Building Words
Provide students with a column of word beginnings and a column of word endings. Have your child combine the word beginnings and endings to make a word. For example, in one column there could be ch, h, th, shr, and in the other column there could be air, ink, ese. Have your child try to make as many words as possible (hair, chair, think, shrink, these).

Fill-in-the-Blank Capitalization
Write a paragraph, story, or letter on a large piece of paper. Leave several blanks at he beginning of words that and have your child fill in the appropriate capital or lowercase letter. If needed, you can write the letter underneath each blank. As each sentence is read, have your child decide which type of letter should be there and discuss with them why the letter is capital or lowercase.

Period Hunt
Select a paragraph from a text your child has already read. Write it without periods or capital letters and have them find where each sentence begins and ends.
