Welcome to 1st Grade NIGHT

Tuesday, August 13 5-6pm

Join us for a night to meet Mrs. Fosnaugh and I. Hear more about our school and classroom procedures. This is a very important night for you and your child. Childcare will be provided so kids can play while we speak.

Please note, this will be the ONLY NIGHT to learn more about our classroom. I look forward to meeting you all and so excited to work with your kids this year. First graders are the best!

About me

My name is Mrs. Kelly Steele. I have been teaching since 2005. My experience is in first and second grades as well as a combination classroom.

I graduated from National-Louis university and have my masters degree from Concordia University in Curriculum and Instruction. I am the PLC (Professional Learning Committee) lead for my grade level and participate in the Building Leadership committee. I also participate in many school-wide committees, including last year's Activators committee. This committee was designed to successfully implement 1:1 technology.

I have 2 daughters- Olivia and Emily. I live with my husband, children 2 cats and a dog. Together we love to bike ride, watch movies and enjoy Mr. Steele's famous popcorn. We love to play outside, read together, and play games.

I absolutely love first grade. The children are full of wonder and excitement. Their honesty and truthfulness are refreshing. I love to teach them mistakes are ok, to care for others and to try their best all while teaching them to read, write, math, science, social studies and now technology. In our classroom, we share, we help, we use kind words and we are respectful to all.

First grade is the best grade ever and I cannot wait for you to experience the love and wonder first graders have to offer!
